Auntie Annie recommends whenever you machine wash or dry anything made with yarn you always use a sweater bag to insure that the garment stays as nice as possible.
The yarn is less likely to pill and the garment is less likely to become misshapen.

We want you to enjoy your purchases a long time. Just a reminder: 100% wool yarn
and articles made with it can't be washed like the acrylics.  It must be hand washed in cold water, no agitation, and dried flat.  We'll be sending these instructions enclosed with your purchase.
